The Laser Foot Surgery Centers are pleased and honored to have as its Chief Medical Administrator, Dr. Rod Tomczak. Dr. Tomczak is well suited for this leadership role. He is a graduate of Kent State University as well as being the founding dean of medical schools in the Caribbean and Saudi Arabia. Combining an extensive background in healthcare education, podiatry and medical administration, he is uniquely experienced to oversee our Concierge Business Model and adapting to the fast changing dynamics of the healthcare industry.

In his consultant capacity, Dr. Cowin will act as our primary Podiatric physician and Podiatry procedure training instructor of the LASER FOOT SURGERY CENTERS, LLC (LFSC) and has been a recognized pioneer and practitioner of Minimally Invasive and Laser Foot and Ankle Surgical Techniques (M.I.F.S.) since 1981.

In 1980, Dr. Richard M. Cowin graduated from the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine and performed an additional year of post-doctoral training in minimally invasive office-cased surgery with the prestigious Surgical and Orthopedic Podiatrists, LTD group in Chicago.  He went on to become one of less than 35 doctors in the United States to become a Board-Certified Diplomate of both the American Board of Ambulatory Foot Surgery and the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.  He is a Fellow of the Academy of Ambulatory Foot and Ankle Surgery and the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is the former director of Cowin Foot Clinic, the Center for Advanced Foot and Ankle Surgery and Advanced Surgery Center. 

Dr. Cowin attended Florida A & M University College of Law and then received his J.D. degree from Novus Law School. He then became trained and certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a circuit civil, family and appellate mediator.  Dr. Cowin has been serving the podiatric medical and surgical needs in the Midwest and in Central Florida for more than three decades.  In 2006, the Board of Trustees of The Academy of Ambulatory Foot and Ankle Surgery presented Dr. Cowin with the prestigious Hall of Fame Award for “outstanding contributions to the progress of ambulatory foot and ankle surgery and the objectives of quality care for all patients.”
